Finance & Supply Chain Opportunity
The Department of Water and Sanitation is looking for an Asset Management Assistant to support asset control processes, including asset verification, record updates, inventory management and disposal procedures. The role is suitable for candidates with Grade 12, especially those with studies or experience in accounting, finance, logistics or supply chain management.

Have a Grade 12 / Senior Certificate
Have a National Diploma in Accounting, Financial Management, Logistics Management or Supply Chain Management (advantageous)
Have an interest in asset management and government administration
Are computer literate, especially in Microsoft Office and Excel
Have good communication and organisational skills
Can work well in a team and solve problems effectively
Requirements
Senior Certificate / Grade 12
National Diploma in Accounting, Financial Management, Logistics Management or Supply Chain Management will be advantageous
Current enrolment in a Finance or Supply Chain Management internship will be advantageous
Knowledge of PFMA, Asset Management Framework and Treasury Regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
Good verbal and written communication skills

Main Duties
Conduct quarterly asset counts
Perform bi-annual physical verification of movable assets
Update asset movements and maintain accurate records
Ensure the asset register is regularly updated
Update inventory lists
Receive new assets and complete barcoding
Maintain leased asset registers
Assist with asset disposal and loss processes
Support asset management activities within the department
Work with teams to achieve departmental objectives
