Minimum Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Hold a recognised qualification as a Care Worker
- Grade 12 or an equivalent school-leaving qualification would be an advantage
- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting
- Basic knowledge of patient care and support practices
- Understanding of infection prevention and control procedures
- Knowledge of basic stock management principles
- Ability to handle routine administrative duties and maintain patient-related documentation
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist the nursing team with patient care and general support within the Emergency Unit. Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting nursing staff in providing safe and high-quality care to patients
- Assisting with appropriate patient care activities as part of the healthcare team
- Recognising potential risks and reporting them in line with hospital procedures
- Helping create a respectful, supportive and positive experience for patients
- Providing administrative assistance to members of the nursing team
- Using hospital stock responsibly and ensuring items are recorded or charged correctly
- Accurately documenting relevant activities, incidents and completed tasks
- Taking part in training, professional development and other learning opportunities
